Emma plays Gaubert & Mouquet

Dear Flutists,

Yes, it's amazing. And all from memory!
(sometimes I truly am just speechless)

    I just wanted to point out that the pianist Emma is working with is Brad Clark, a wonderful musician that I have had the pleasure of working with many times.

    Dear Jen,
    The headjoint of my flute has rust in it. How do i get it out? ( If you take the headjoint off of the flute and look into it, the rust is where the cap meets the head joint.) Help! And thanks!

    Dear Anonymous,

    You shouldn't bother trying to fix your flute yourself. Take it to a local, well respected flute technician. If there is rust, there's a need for a cleaning and oiling. Lack of oil in the moving parts is the bigger enemy. Best, Jen

    Wowza is right! How in the world does she do all that from memory! Of course, as a 63-year-old first-time flute student, I may have different issues with this memory stuff! I loved hearing and watching her! Truly inspirational!!

    Dear Jen.
    I'm a teenage flute player that recently discovered your blog which have been very helpful.
    I realised that i have playd, with franche tounging my whole life, and now i'm trying to learn to play double tounging properly. Instead of using the tip of my toung, I have been using a part farther towards the middle of the toung.
    Have you any tips of how to get rid of that bad habbit? I'm more than willing to practise methodicaly to achieve that.
    And can you tell me more about french tounging? Which types of music is the tounging a benefit?
